The Old Man of Storr Lives in Scotland

At 10 kilometeres to the north of Portree, in Trotternish, one can find a 50m high rocky structure which was basically formed by the deposits of lava flow since years. Trotternish itself is formed by major landslide in ancient years. The structure is a landmark of the Isle of Skye, in Scotland, and is visible above the road from miles around. The structure has been named “The old man of Storr”, wherein Storr means great man. The reason behind such is name is that the structure’s silhouette and pinnacle looks like that of an old human face. The structure belongs in the list of favourite spots for photographers and was also projected as an opening scene in the movie named Prometheus by Ridley Scott.
